Deadlines for Term 2

Deadline #1 - November 15

Deadline #2  December 4

Deadline #3 December 18

I will be much more strict about deadlines this term.  You will not be able to get an A if you do not meet all three deadlines.

Editing Quiz/Deadlines next Tuesday

Today we took and copy editing quiz.  How did you do?

Just a reminder that your first deadline is next Tuesday.  This means you need to have your story ready to go to your editors by Tuesday.  Meeting deadlines is a major component of your grade.

Make sure your writing is interesting, non-homework like, and appropriate for the audience (your peers).

Also, make sure you know what stories you will be working on for your next deadline.  If you need an assignment, talk to Mrs. Meeks.

Welcome!

Welcome to Journalism.  This class will likely be one of the most authentic writing experiences students will have.  They will get to write for a real audience.  Though students will learn skills in writing, reporting, editing, interviewing, layout and design etc., one of the biggest functions this class will serve is creating unity among the school community.  As we celebrate the accomplishments of the students and the school, we have a wonderful opportunity promote the unique mission of the school.

Let's get started!
